Is blindGram an official Telegram app?
No. blindGram is an independent accessibility project developed from Telegram’s open-source Android code.
What is difference between blindGram and blindGram Plus?
Both editions offer the same accessibility features. Plus uses a separate application identity and installs beside the main edition.
What is blindGram Assistant?
Assistant is an optional companion for OCR, reading text in images, image descriptions, and assistive features. Standard use does not require it.
Where can I download blindGram safely?
This website and the official @blindGram channel are the listed release sources.
What does blindGram cost?
The download is free, and continued use runs on license credit. You buy credit from the Buy page in 30, 90, 180, or 360-day periods, and unused days are preserved.
Do I need Telegram Premium?
No. None of the accessibility features need Premium. Turning a voice message into text is done by the Assistant, offline and without Premium.
Which Android versions are supported?
Android 5.0 and newer. The Assistant has the same minimum and installs on ARM devices.
Does it only work with TalkBack?
No. blindGram is built on Android’s accessibility framework rather than on one reader, so it works with the screen reader and home app you already use. Most of our own testing is done with TalkBack.
Can I keep the official Telegram installed too?
Yes. blindGram is a separate app and installs alongside official Telegram. Plus has its own identity as well, so you can run two accounts in two apps at once.
How do updates work?
blindGram is not on Google Play. Use “Check for updates” in the blindGram area to download and install a new version inside the app; releases are also announced on the official channel.
Can the blindGram team read my messages?
No. Your messages travel between your device and Telegram’s servers. The blindGram server stores only your number to identify the license, and crash reports contain no messages or contacts.
Do I lose my settings if I reinstall?
Not if you take a backup. The blindGram area has Backup and Restore, and the file is written to the public “Documents/blindGram” folder, so uninstalling the app does not delete it.
